MINAKO’S STORY 2 着物物語２

My mother used to wear this Oshima tsumugi on New Year’s days when she was young. Now she is learning to play the koto and wears gorgeous kimono on the stage, but she does not wear kimono in her private life, so this Oshima tsumugi had been neglected for a long time. I asked to have this kimono taken apart and re-sewn to my size. I like the particular crispy but smooth touch of Oshima. This is my first tsumugi. The black color was not as strong as I imagined. Also, I like quiet but strong color combinations.

この大島紬は母が若い頃お正月に着ていた物です。母は琴を習っていて、発表会では華やかなやわらかものの着物を着ますが、普段から趣味として着物を着る事がないため、この大島は長い間着られずにしまってありました。この着物をサイズを直して私が着ることになりました。

大島紬特有の、ハリがあるけど身体に馴染む感じが気に入っています。色合いも好きで、黒は強いかなと思いましたが着てみるとそうでもありませんでした。初めて着た紬です。渋さとはっきりした色合いが気に入っています。
