MINAKO’S STORY 1 着物物語１
I found this kimono had been sleeping as a tanmono (kimono rolled fabric) for years at my parents place. I brought it to Tokyo and tailored it my size. Apparently, my grandmother bought this but she could not wear it, and my mother also didn’t wear it. This suits my taste, so I was so happy when I found it. According to my mother, this kimono is also my grandmother’s taste, so I thought that taste-wise she and I share kimono style. It is a shame that it is too late to show her how I look in this kimono, but I can connect with her by wearing it. The colors are brownish, so I wear it in the autumn and winter.
この着物は反物のまま実家に眠っていたのを見つけ、東京に持って来て私のサイズに仕立てたものです。祖母が自分のために買った物のようですが、母も着なかったのでずっとそのままになっていました。実家の箪笥でこの反物を見つけたときは「こんなのあったんだ～」と嬉しくなりました。母によると、この好みは祖母らしいということで、着物の好みが隔世遺伝したと思いました。この着物を着た姿を祖母に見せられないのは残念ですが着る事で繋がれたら嬉しいです。色目が茶系なので秋冬に着ています。
