STORIES 着物物語

This is a homongi that was worn by my mother. She had it made to attend my graduation ceremony from junior high school, so it has good memories for me. My mother taught Japanese cookery. She worked really hard to send me to a private school.

This colour purple really suited her. When she was alive and well I chose to wear this kimono to a wedding ceremony. That made her really happy. As there are no people in the landscape on the kimono, you can use your imagination. The peaks of the waves are drawn really three dimensionally and I never get tired of looking at it.  I love this kimono, its so special.

これは母が着ていた訪問着です。私の中学校の卒業式に参列するために母が作った思い出の着物です。母は日本料理の先生をしていました。私を私立の中学校に行かせるのに一生懸命に働いてくれました。

この紫色が母にとても似合っていました。母が元気な頃に、結婚式に参列するために私がこの着物を着たことがあります。そのときはとても喜んでくれました。着物に描かれている風景画の中には人物がいないのでその分、想像力をかき立てられます。

波頭もとても立体的に描かれていて、どんなに見ていても飽きません。大好きな特別な着物です。
