This wool is my first tailored kimono. I made this at a small kimono shop that was in the shopping street and I saw by chance. I bought a yukata at there before. The shop staff are not greedy, so there was a mountain of reasonable tanmono (kimono cloth roles) in the corner of this shop, and I picked this. There was a house school of sumo wrestlers near by the shop, and some of them came to get their yukata or wool kimono. I like the snow crystal patterns and beautiful black. Also it is so warm and comfortable. I can ask a regular dry cleaner to care for this kimono. It is easy to keep it.

このウールの着物は初めて自分で誂えた着物です。

たまに行く商店街にある、一目ではそうとわかりにくい呉服やさんで作りました。このお店では以前にも浴衣を買ったことがあるのですが、商売っ気のないお店で、お店の奥の方にお手頃な反物が山積みになっていて、その中からこれを選び、お仕立てをお願いしました。このお店の近くに相撲部屋があり、お相撲さん達がウールの着物や浴衣を求めに来ていました。

この着物は黒がとても綺麗に発色していて、柄も非常に気に入っています。軽くて温かくてとても着やすい上に、ウールなので普通のドライクリーニングに出せるので維持コストが安く済むのも嬉しいです。
