Chikage’s Story 1

This homonngi is painted Kaga-yuzen on a tsumugi fabric. I tailored this when I was late 20’s. This is a quiet and wintry expression, a cool tsumugi with a mature image. It is very different from my tea ceremony kimono which were made with my mother’s taste. I really like this picture. The most important Kaga-yuzen is realism. You can see the original Japanese traditional image from the detailed expression of children’s hair or the patterns of their kimono. This is a tsumugi homongi, so there are few occasions to wear it, I don’t regret getting it, because the picture is so perfect that I am satisfied just to gaze at it sometimes. I would like to wear it rather more as I become older.
