I fell in love at first sight and bought this kimono ten years ago as a roll of cloth. It looks like a maiko’s kimono or a kabuki costume. It was komon tannmono. But I asked to tailor it to close the image of the costume: with long sleeves and rounded sleeve corners after asking the advice of the shop’s staff. I love this pattern, and I can see the good craftsmanship in this suri-yuzen technique, in spite of the fact that mass-printed kimono are increasing. I usually do not wear this color in my regular clothing, but I like it in kimono. It looks very good on Japanese skin color.

１０年前、反物に一目惚れして買いました。

歌舞伎の衣装や舞妓さんの着物のイメージの物に出会ってしまいました。

小紋の反物でしたが、お店の人のアドバイスで、できるだけ袖を長く、角を丸くして、衣装のイメージにより近づけてお仕立てしてもらいました。

柄も大好きですし、染めも、最近はプリントが多い中、摺り友禅の手仕事の良さが表れています。普段、洋服ではあまり着ない色ですが、着物では好きです。日本人の肌の色に合うと思います。
