This Kagayuzen kimono came from my mother. My mother wore this for her engagement ceremony. I changed the length of the sleeves. I really like this because of the elegantly expressed dyeing. I try to wear it often while I’m young, because I don’t think I can wear pink when I get older. In the future if I had a daughter, I would be happy if she could wear it. Or it would be nice to dye it a different colour. Anyway, I would never give this kimono anyone except my relative. I wore it when I attended some wedding parties. My mother looks happy when she sees me in this kimono.

母から譲られた加賀友禅の着物です。母が結納のときに着た着物を裄を直して着ています。加賀友禅らしい、染めだけで表現された美しさが良くでていて、しっとりとした感じが気に入っています。ピンク色なので着られる年代に限りがあるため今のうちにできるだけ着たいと思っています。いつか自分に女の子ができたら、譲って、３世代で着られたら素敵です。またはピンクを別の色に染め直して着てもいいかなと考えています。いずれにしても、母の思い入れのある着物なので、誰かに譲る場合は親族しか考えていません。

友人の結婚式に着ています。着ると母が喜ぶのでいつも見せに行きます。
