PROBLEMS 問題
Atsuko (daughter) ：I have a problem that many women my age have, women in their fifties and sixties. Many of us don’t wear kimono, and we have a problem about knowing what to do with our mother’s kimono. I have not married, so I don’t have daughters and neither does my brother. Even people who have daughters say the daughters often don’t want these kimono from the family chest. I don’t want to just sell them, but they take a lot of space. There are some messages I found in the collection, pieces of paper that say how the kimono are to be disposed of, so my mother has already given away many kimono to people who would like to have them.
私の問題はたぶん多くの５０代、６０代の女性が抱えている問題です。母（喜代子さん）から着物を譲られてもどうしたら良いのか、、、ということです。
私の場合は、自分は着物を着ないし、子供もいない、兄にも女の子がいません。また娘さんがいる人でも、その娘さんが古い着物を欲しがらないことも多いです。売りたくはありませんが場所をとります。タンスの中に、着物をどのように処分したか書いたメモが入っていたので、すでに、母は希望された方々に差し上げているようです。
