STORY 2 着物物語2
This all over design casual (komon) kimono was made for my 7,5,3. I don’t know why I had a komon instead of a formal kimono, but anyway, it was made for me when I was seven. It was originally white with a bright orange design on it. Then when I was older, I had it re-dyed in this grey colour. Then it was re-sewn to my adult size and I wore it with a hakama for my university graduation. That is an amazing thing about kimono; I wore it at seven, but I can still wear it as an adult. This kimono has a lot of memories for me because I wore it at those ceremonies.

この小紋はわたしの七五三のために作られたものです。なぜ小紋柄になったかは分かりませんが七歳の時に作られました。最初は白に明るいオレンジでしたが大人になってから、グレーをかけて染め直し、寸法も直しました。袴と合わせて大学の卒業式に着ました。７才でも着られて、大人になっても着られるのは着物の素晴らしさの一つだと思います。わたしにとって、思い出がたくさんある着物です。
