Naomi’s Kimono Story (Part 1)

This kimono is the first one I bought for myself. Previously my mother ordered some kimono for me, but they were all pink. Maybe her generation had the idea that young women should wear pink, but I didn’t want to wear it. The shop also recommended that I buy pink when I made this kimono, but I chose this colour instead. I was shown a lot of kimono bolts, but I picked this without hesitation. I wanted to resist the people who recommended pink. I like this small pattern and there is pink in the lining. When I was in my 20’s, I did not have many kimono so this kimono was very useful. I wore it at tea ceremonies and attending graduation ceremony with a hakama as a teacher. I think I might have picked this color because it is like matcha ( Japanese tea) color.
