STORY 3 着物物語 3
This tsumugi was from my grandmother’s collection which was split up when she died. My sister and other relatives took the other kimono, so I just have this one. It was actually woven by one of my grandmother’s relatives. I have had it lengthened and re-dyed and also put in a new lining but I will probably never wear it, because it is still too short and I can’t make the fold in the middle. I don’t like to wear it without that. Kimono and boots style does not suit me.

この紬は祖母の着物でした。亡くなった時、姉と他の親せきが形見分けをし、私にこの一枚がきました。祖母の親戚の一人が誰か織ったものです。祖母は小柄な人でした。この着物の寸法を伸ばし、染め直して、新しい裏地をつけましたが私が着るとおはしょりがでないのでおそらく着ないと思います。おはしょり無しで着るスタイルは好きではありませんし、短く着てブーツと合わせるような着方は私には似合いません。
