I got this meisen kimono from my friend when I succeeded in dressing in a kimono by myself. I really love this because it has the particular characteristic of meisen style, like the colors, patterns and color combinations.
The pattern is bold but rather easy to wear. I felt a kind of liberation from my thought “kimono should be worn on formal occasions” when I wore this kimono. I went to watch a shamisen performance, kimono event, etc in this kimono. I imagine what kind of person made this kimono. I would like to see the original former owner’s coordination of this kimono in the old days if I could.
この着物は友人から購入しました。着物を自分で着られるようになったときにこの着物に出会いました。とにかく好きな着物で、色合いといい、柄といい、配色といい、銘仙独特だと思います。三味線バンドのライブや着物の仮装パレードなどのイベントにも着て行きました。この着物がきっかけで普段
にどんどん着物を着るようになりました。柄は大胆ですが着やすいです。むしろここまで大胆だと「着物はフォーマルなもの」という今までの自分の考えから解放されかえって自由になれる気がします。
この着物を見ると、これを作った人は何を思ってこの柄をつくったのだろうと思いを馳せます。この着物を昔に着ていた人のコーデｲーネートを見てみたいです。
