Yoko’s Kimono Story (Part Two)

The second kimono was given to me by my mother. Originally this kimono had a white ground, but I could not wear it, because there were some stains on it, that really stood out. So my mother sent it to the dyers and had a pattern of very small dots dyed onto the ground. The result was even nicer than the original kimono. When I was in my 30s, my mother started to tidy up her kimono and she re-sewed some to my size. The number of my kimono increased then, and I started to know about remaking and re-using kimono and I got interested in that.
